Hauntcon, Roller Dolls, and More! (CO)
May 19th - 20th
Our weekend was amazing, but hardly the kicked-back holiday away from work most people enjoy. Firemancer coordinated and performed three shows Friday night and a fourth on Saturday. From the Roller Dolls at the Denver Colliseum to Hauntcon's private tour of Little Spider's Scream Park, and then two birthday parties--one for a great group of kids, the other some fun-loving adults! We were busy and loving it.

First, Roller Doll fans streamed...

into the Denver Colliseum for our pre-game show. They especially enjoyed one of our trademark effects, "the Ring of Fire", while our friends, Orange Peel Moses and Melinda Dickson, sang a humorous rendition of the Johnny Cash song by the same name. Then a swarm of gorgeous, flirty gals rolled out into the rink and battled it out for the prize as we hauled out our gear, LP tank, costumes, and fuel. Our thanks, once again, to the Denver Fire Department and City Official for their oversight and assistance with this unique indoor show. We look forward to sharing addition fire acts at their future bouts.

Melinda and I then split up to perform the next two smaller shows simultaneously. Melinda gave Bill and his wife a spectacular birthday show that went well beyond the fire eating they were initially looking for. Enjoyone was stunned and amazed!

Meanwhile, I was joined by Zachory Helms and his customized, post-apocalyptic hearse, Lexxi, to entertain Hauntcon guests as they waited to enter the Little Spider Scream Park. When the music came on and the lights kicked up, flames spun and dazzled the crowd with our eerie green flaming smiling face among others. For bigger shows, we look forward to sharing a green flaming ghoul we've created especially for Halloween!

But our weekend wasn't over! Getting as much rest as possible, we reset our costumes, inspected our gear, and loaded more fuel for yet another show. After her Saturday rehearsals (for Carnival de Fuego - coming soon), Melinda joined me once again to help celebrate Megan's thirteeth birthday in true tropical style. With DJ and lights, limbo, and lots of wonderful food spread out, this group of wild kids clapped and cheered on our polynesian fire dancing, fire eating, and other effects.

Thanks to all the people who helped us making these events so memorable. Thanks to our wonderful team of safety crew, local fire authorities, event organizers, and our friends who've always ben there when we needed their support. You folks rock!
